SohoNAS provides a cost effective, robust, flexible and functionally
rich alternative to server-based disk for file access applications plus internet
services. SohoNAS is an easily maintainable network connect disk appliance that
can be shared across the network. It's ideally suited to non-application based
data, such as file serving, and internet gateway or digital AV media center for
SOHO and home users.
Traditional
NAS used to divide into three areas based on scalability and cost: entry-level,
with up to 300G bytes of capacity; midrange, from 300G bytes to as much as 1.2
terabytes; and enterprise, high-end, which exceeds 1.2 terabytes.
The SohoNAS from MWR is a
'traditional' entry-level NAS device with internet services capabilities, ideal
for SOHO use. It offers enough capacity, and is much more cost effective. It
further enhances MWR's unique positioning in the consumer market, by improving
performance and functionality while reducing cost.
SohoNAS
offers smaller
networks an economical and simple means of sharing files, as well as backing up
data and provides soho users a cost effective solution in increasing storage
capacity and the flexibility to be accessed through internet. Compared to the
conventional file server designed for experienced IT professionals,
SohoNAS is designed to simplify complicated and time consuming
operations. Comprehensive web-browser based software is provided and offers a
wide array of managerial and administrative options. No NAS or file servers
have ever been easier or more affordable than with MWR's SohoNAS
products.
SohoNAS
offers the ultimate storage solution by
providing efficient, high-speed network-transmission and data-security for SOHO
customers, small advertising and design studios as well as image processors.
The
entry-level SohoNAS models (single disk) will begin shipping at an
estimated retail price of $99 ~$199 through distributors (no hard disk
pre-installed), value-added resellers (VARs) and system integrators in October.
The other two networked storage solutions, the SohoNAS-302 and the
SohoNAS-312, are available to ship through the same channels this
month.
